Julian Chung has served as Turnberry’s General Counsel since January 2020. In this role, Chung oversees all aspects of the internal legal department and manages outside legal counsel working on a wide range of issues including joint ventures, development, financings, as well as internal corporate matters and employee issues.
Chung has more than twenty-five years of experience in finance and real estate law and has worked on more than $15 billion of transactions. Prior to joining Turnberry, Chung was a Partner at the New York law firm Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP, where she worked on corporate financings including syndicated secured credit facilities and REIT financings, and real estate financings secured by commercial real estate, multi-family, single-family and other assets. While there, Chung was also the co-head and creator of the Associate Success and Advancement Program (ASAP). Previously, she was a Partner at Orrick, Herrington, & Sutcliffe LLP and Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft LLP.
Chung earned her J.D. at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York and her B.A. from New York University. Previously, Chung was on the Legal Advisory Board for Echoing Green. She was named to American Lawyer’s “45 Under 45” list and was recognized by Legal 500 in the Bank Lending, Leading Lawyer category.
