With more than four decades of combined business, accounting, management and legal experience, Mario A. Romine is a key member of the Turnberry legal team. In his position as Senior Vice President, General Counsel–Special Projects, Romine oversees numerous corporate, real estate, litigation and transactional matters for the company.
Romine began full-time employment with Turnberry in 1996 and was actively involved in all of the company’s major projects, including the development of many high-rise luxury condominium towers throughout the United States and internationally. Romine served as General Counsel of Turnberry’s residential division between 2004 and 2011, and during his tenure with the company was part of teams that oversaw the development of more than 20 different high-rise projects with over 5,000 luxury units representing approximately $3 billion dollars of revenue. Romine was also an integral part of the original acquisition, subsequent financing and eventual restructuring of Fontainebleau Miami Beach and of Fontainebleau Resorts, LLC. His areas of expertise include real estate, acquisitions, development, financing, joint ventures, franchising, due diligence, company restructuring, partner relations and litigation.
Romine is admitted to the state bars of Pennsylvania and New York and is a Florida Bar Authorized House Counsel. He has a J.D. from Duquesne University, a B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and an A.A. in accounting. He is also fluent in Spanish.
Romine has previously served on the board of the YMCA of South Florida, serves on other non-profits and enjoys speaking at CLE conferences.
