Town Square, being developed by Turnberry and Centra Properties, will revolve around a village-style setting, creating a one-of-a-kind shopping and dining experience in the open-air, Main street-themed environment. With more than 150 retail shops, over 12 restaurants and an 18-screen movie theater, Town Square will provide a new indoor and outdoor gathering place for people across the valley.
Town Square will be anchored by Robb & Stucky, Borders and 24-Hour Fitness. Fry’s Electronics store, adjacent to the site, will be incorporated as a Town Square anchor.
Wethington comes to Turnberry with 16 years of retail-management experience. Prior to joining the company, he served as general manager of Victoria Gardens, a 1.2 million square-foot open-air town center in southern California. There, he prepared the center for its October 2004 grand opening and then oversaw all operations.
Wethington served in a similar capacity at Galleria at Sunset, a large retail center in Nevada. In both positions, he was responsible for all property management, as well as recruiting leasing tenants for the new space created by center expansions.
“Michael is the ideal candidate to oversee the exciting developments taking place at Town Square,” said Joseph C. Szymaszek, Turnberry’s vice president of retail operations. “His broad experience will help ensure the success of the center through its opening and beyond.”
Wethington also spent seven years in various positions with JC Penney, one of the largest department store, catalog, and e-commerce retailers in the U.S.
He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from New Mexico State University in 1989, majoring in Finance and Real Estate.

Restaurants will include Tommy Bahama’s Tropical Café, Yard House and Texas de Brazil, all of which will make their Las Vegas debut at Town Square. Well-known restaurants including Brio and Claim Jumper also will open venues within Town Square.
