DESTIN, FL (October 5, 2006) – Destin Commons, the premier open-air super regional lifestyle center in Northwest Florida, has been named “Best Shopping Complex on the Emerald Coast” by Emerald Coast magazine’s annual Readers’ Choice Poll. This is the third year in a row that Destin Commons has received top accolades from the publication, winning “Best Shopping Complex” and “Best Place to Take the Kids” in 2004, along with “Best of the Best Place to Shop” in 2005. Readers were asked to vote for their favorites in a variety of categories. A full list of winners was announced in the October edition of Emerald Coast magazine, and recipients were honored at the 6th Annual Emerald Coast Gala benefiting the Destin Family YMCA.

“This award has special meaning as it comes directly from the community members we serve,” said Mary Kathryn Wells, Director of Marketing for Destin Commons. “As we celebrate our three year anniversary and break ground on our expansion, we are pleased to continue providing patrons with a prestigious mix of retailers and an unsurpassed shopping experience.”

Anchored by Bass Pro Shops Worldwide, Belk and a 14-screen Rave Motion Pictures movie theater, Destin Commons has set a new standard for shopping, dining and entertainment in Florida’s Panhandle since opening in November 2003. Ideally located in Destin, Fla.’s dynamic retail hub at the corner of Mid-Bay Bridge Road and U.S. Highway 98, Destin Commons currently includes 400,000 square feet of retail and 70,000 square feet of office space. Recently, a 205,000-square-foot expansion was launched, including 110,000 square feet of office space and a 120-suite hotel scheduled for completion in Spring 2008. Destin Commons was developed by South Florida-based Turnberry Associates and Destin’s Legendary Inc.

Founded in 1967, Turnberry Associates has developed more than $7 billion in commercial and residential real estate, including approximately 20 million square feet of retail development. The company built the renowned Aventura Mall in South Florida and Monroeville Mall and South Hills Mall in Pittsburgh and is creating Town Square, a 1.5-million-square-foot super regional lifestyle center on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip.
