ARLINGTON, VA – (March 5, 2007) – Following demolition of the former Best Western Hotel, located at 1850 North Fort Myer Drive in Arlington, Va., Turnberry, Ltd. recently broke ground on Turnberry Tower, the first ultra-luxury condominium development in the Washington, D.C. area. Completion for the 26-story high-rise is estimated for spring 2009.

“We are excited that Turnberry Tower is an integral part of redefining Arlington and establishing Rosslyn as one of Washington’s premier upscale neighborhoods,” said Jim Cohen Vice President of Sales, Turnberry, Ltd. “The groundbreaking and demolition of the Best Western are significant milestones that bring us closer to making this amazing project a reality.”

The Turnberry Tower sales center, previously housed in the Best Western, has moved to 1820 North Ft. Myer Drive, entrance on North Nash Street, steps from the construction site. The beautiful, new center features two full-scale model kitchens complete with top-of-the-line European appliances and imported cabinetry by Snaidero, as well as an exquisite model master bathroom.

“This marks another important milestone for the revitalization of Rosslyn,” said Terry Holzheimer, director, Arlington Economic Development. “The Turnberry Tower project exemplifies the type of sophistication, elegance and style that is residing in this neighborhood. We're happy to see this project begin.”

Boasting picturesque views from Key Bridge to Georgetown, along with sweeping vistas of the Potomac River, Washington National Cathedral, Washington Monument, Kennedy Center and more, Turnberry Tower offers one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom residences priced from the $800,000s to more than $4 million.

All luxurious residences will include the finest materials and feature the unparalleled attention to detail for which Turnberry is renowned. Among the tower’s features are nine- to twelve-foot smooth finished ceilings, Miele European cooking appliances, Sub-Zero refrigeration, luxurious finishes, floor to ceiling windows, direct entry elevators and an indoor swimming pool.
