Construction Well Underway for Luxury Condominium Development

Each weekday, approximately 250 concrete finishing crewmen, plumbers, electricians, sheet metal workers, sprinkler fitters, carpenters, rodmen and framing crewmen descend upon the Turnberry Tower construction site in Arlington, Va. Together, they are quickly transforming what was recently an empty space into a magnificent 26-story ultra-luxury condominium tower.

With concrete being poured daily from 7:30 a.m. to noon, the team is now constructing one tower floor every ten calendar days and expects to top off the building by the end of the summer. Completion is projected for summer 2009.

“It’s incredibly exciting to watch Turnberry Tower take shape,” said Turnberry, Ltd. Vice President of Sales , the project’s developer. “There’s a tremendous amount of anticipation among our team and future Turnberry residents.”

According to Cohen, the building’s entire underground garage structure has been completed, and the tower currently is built up to the 10th floor of residences. The pool has been formed and poured on the lobby level, and the pool area roof also has been poured.

By May, the concrete will have been poured up to the 12th floor and the site landscaping walls will be installed on the Fort Myer Drive side of the building. The curtain wall systems and exterior granite will be started. Metal framing will also begin and the interior of the building will start taking shape with electrical, plumbing and HVAC ductwork launching this summer.
