Jeffrey Soffer
Chairman & CEO

In 1997, Turnberry, Ltd. Chairman/Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Soffer announced he would bring his South Florida-based company's "mansions in the sky" concept to Las Vegas and create the first high-rise condominium community overlooking The Strip. That "gamble" paid off as the $650 million Turnberry Place sold out and launched a new standard for high-rise living in Las Vegas.

Soffer, 40, also serves as executive chairman of Fontainebleau Resorts, LLC, the company set to introduce its iconic hotel brand to the dynamic city. Scheduled to open in fall 2009, Fontainebleau Las Vegas will be a spectacular 3,812-room destination casino resort on The Strip. The 63-story, 725-foot tower will feature a dramatic lobby with soaring ceilings, signature restaurants, 60,000-square-foot spa, 95,000-square-foot casino, 3,300-seat performing arts theater, trendsetting retail boutiques, a state-of-the-art conference center and the world's largest rooftop pool and club scene with incredible views directly down the Las Vegas Strip. The company also re-created the legendary Fontainebleau Miami Beach with a spectacular $500 million makeover opened November 2008.

Soffer's other Las Vegas developments include The Residences at MGM Grand and Turnberry Towers. A joint-venture with MGM Mirage, The Residences includes three sold out and completed 40-story towers on the MGM Grand property. Turnberry Towers is being built one block off The Strip and appealing to both primary and second-home buyers.

At home in South Florida, the finishing touches are being placed on Soffer's signature Turnberry Ocean Colony, a luxury high-rise enclave in Sunny Isles Beach. Both 37-story residential towers are sold out and a $15 million private club is open on for residents and their guests to enjoy.

Other Turnberry residential projects in development include Turnberry Tower, Residences at the Galleria in Houston; Turnberry Harbour in Destin, Fla.; The Residences at Atlantis, Paradise Island, an oceanfront condominium-hotel tower at the world-renowned Bahamas resort; Turnberry Tower Arlington in suburban Washington D.C.; and Fontainebleau III Ocean Club, an 18-story condominium-hotel at the legendary Miami Beach resort. Turnberry also will soon begin sales for a condominium development in San Francisco's Rincon Hill.

Since Soffer joined Turnberry in 1987, he has primarily focused his efforts on the residential real estate division but also plays a large role in the company's development of shopping malls, hotels and office buildings throughout the country. Turnberry's Town Square, a 1.5 million-square-foot shopping center on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, opened in November 2007 to rave reviews. The company's Aventura Mall, one of the most successful shopping centers in the country, recently added a two-level Nordstrom and 30 new stores and restaurants in February 2008.
